I’m Justin Best, a visual editorJBSquareMug in the Pacific Northwest.

I love to solve problems and make life run smoother. For over a decade I have been a highly organized visual editor, manager and newsroom leader in the high-pressure world of daily journalism. My goal is to produce a high quality product in any endeavor. I have tackled and led various challenges in the newsroom: book publishing, multiple quarterly magazines, redesigns of both print and web products and training a team on a new CMS and workflow. I enjoy helping others reach their peak potential and enhancing their work to be the best. I am able to juggle the various personalities on any team with a positive and empathetic hand.

I spend my free time with my wife and two children, enjoying all the beautiful nature that the Pacific Northwest has to offer by camping, hiking and canoeing. On those not so rare rainy days, I enjoy being a geek and playing with technology. But I take some low-tech time every day to work on the New York Times crossword puzzle, in pen.
